This achievement standard tests whether you can listen to spoken Korean conversations and understand what's being said. You'll listen to a variety of texts (like conversations, interviews, or discussions) about everyday topics — things you'd typically encounter in Korean-speaking contexts. You need to show that you actually understand the meaning of what you hear, not just pick out random words.
You understand the general meaning of what was said and can pick out some basic details from the conversations.
You identify most of the key details and use them to support your answers clearly — you show you understand the content well and can back up what you say with evidence.
You fully explain what was said, including meanings that aren't directly stated, and you justify your interpretations with detailed evidence from the text — you show you understand the deeper layers of meaning.
