Undertake brief development to address an issue
This standard asks you to work through a brief development process to design a solution to a real problem in technology. You'll explore a context (like storage, outdoor living, or sustainable energy), identify an issue, work out what needs to be made or designed, gather stakeholder feedback, and produce a final brief that explains what you're building and why it matters.
You undertake a brief development process that identifies an issue, reflects on environmental and stakeholder considerations, and produces a final brief with conceptual statement and specifications.
You undertake in-depth brief development by prioritising social and physical environmental considerations and actively reflecting ongoing feedback from key and wider stakeholders throughout the process.
You undertake comprehensive brief development by justifying (not just explaining) why your particular outcome should be developed and justifying how the specifications match the physical and functional attributes your solution requires.
