Produce a systematic body of work that shows understanding of art making conventions and ideas within sculpture
You need to create a collection of sculpture work that shows you understand how sculptors actually work and what ideas they explore. Your portfolio should demonstrate that you've thought carefully about your choices and learned the key techniques and approaches that real sculptors use. This means showing your learning journey across two large panels of work, with clear evidence of planning, making, trying things out, and improving your ideas.
You present a body of sculpture work that connects to your chosen ideas, shows you understand basic sculptural processes and materials, and demonstrates decision-making in how you've selected and arranged your pieces.
You show purposeful and intentional decision-making throughout, with clear evidence of making work, reflecting on what you've created, then improving your ideas based on that reflection; your technical skill is solid and your resourcing and planning are adequate.
You demonstrate sophisticated understanding of sculpture conventions and your own artistic voice, with well-documented progression from early concept work through to technically accomplished final pieces; you make informed creative decisions early enough to explore new directions with confidence.
