Give a spoken presentation in Japanese that communicates information, ideas and opinions
For this standard, students give a spoken presentation in Japanese at Year 12 level. The presentation needs to share information, ideas, and opinions on a topic — this could be about personal experiences, hopes and dreams, family life, reactions to something, or a story. It is assessed by your own teacher (internally assessed), and is worth 4 credits. The key is that you actually communicate your message in Japanese, not just recite memorised lines without meaning.
You get your message across in Japanese — information, ideas, and opinions are communicated. There can be some errors in grammar, pronunciation, or delivery, as long as the overall meaning still comes through.
Your presentation is convincing. You develop and connect your ideas well, your Japanese sounds generally credible, and a range of language is used that suits your topic and audience. Small inconsistencies don't seriously get in the way of understanding.
Your presentation is effective and controlled. You develop and integrate your ideas smoothly, you use a well-chosen range of Japanese language features with skill, and nothing significantly interrupts communication. It feels polished and purposeful.
