Experiment with different materials to develop a Materials and Processing Technology outcome
You'll design and build something real that solves a problem for someone—but the key is that you experiment with different materials along the way to figure out which ones work best. You need to test out how materials behave, combine them, or shape them in different ways, then use what you learn to create your final product.
You experiment with a range of different materials, document what happens, and create a working outcome that meets a real need, showing you learned something from trying the materials out.
You investigate materials through multiple rounds of testing, actively gather feedback from more than one stakeholder, and refine your product based on what you discover about how materials perform.
You analyse why different materials have the properties they do and provide clear reasons (with evidence from your testing) for why the materials you chose are the best fit for your specific purpose.
