Interact clearly using NZ Sign Language to explore and justify varied ideas and perspectives in different situations
This achievement standard asks you to have real conversations in New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) where you actively participate, express your own views clearly, and engage with different ideas and perspectives. You need to show you can interact confidently in various situations—from casual chats to more formal discussions—without needing to rehearse everything beforehand, and use appropriate Deaf cultural conventions while doing so.
You interact clearly in NZSL, express your own views, and engage with different perspectives, though your signing may have some inconsistencies in articulation, vocabulary choice, sign order, or fluency.
You interact convincingly with a good range of language suited to your audience, and you make generally successful choices in how to keep the conversation going without major interruptions to clarity.
You interact effectively with a strong range of language that is consistently appropriate for the situation and audience, and you skilfully navigate the conversation using a variety of strategies while maintaining clear, unhindered communication throughout.
