Tuhi i te reo o tōna ao
This standard asks you to write a piece of te reo Māori that is directly relevant to a topic you've chosen. You need to express your ideas clearly and organize your thoughts so the reader can follow what you mean. The writing needs to make sense from start to finish.
- ·Write about a chosen topic in te reo Māori that actually answers the question asked
- ·Express and organize your ideas so they are easy to follow
- ·Use grammar (verbs, sentence starters, tenses) correctly enough that your meaning is clear
- ·Develop your ideas with details and explanation, not just list simple points
- ·Make sure your writing flows from one sentence to the next and forms a complete piece
You write simple sentences on the topic with some grammar mistakes, answer at least part of the question, and show basic understanding even if your ideas aren't fully developed.
You use a range of level 5–6 grammar structures (like passive voice, relative clauses, or different tense forms) with only minor errors, answer most or all of the question in detail, and expand on your ideas with reasons.
